The Administration of Occupational Safety and Health has published the following informative material in several languages.



The following courses are offered at the AOSH

Course for safety representatives and safety managers

Main topics are:

  • Main tasks and responsibilities of safety representatives and safety managers
  • Laws and regulations
  • Noise and lighting in workplaces
  • Physical and psycho-social risk factors
  • Risk evaluation
  • Work related accidents and occupational diseases

The course runs for two days/ Plan of courses for the autumn 2007 (to come)

Specialized courses

Managers in workplaces can place an order for the AOSH to hold specialized courses on topics of their own choice.

Workplace meetings and lectures

At the initiative of the AOSH or managers and employees of companies or organizations, meetings are held and/or lectures given on various topics concerning health, hygiene and safety in the workplace. The meetings/lectures last for about 1-2 hours at a time.

Basic course

Operating and handling fork lift trucks and mini construction machinery. The basic course includes lectures and written instructions (theoretical) and is a prerequisite for taking a practical test.

Tower crane course

The course for tower crane operators includes lectures and written instructions (theoretical). Taking part in the course gives participants the right to obtain a practical training and lastly taking a practical test. The practical test is taken at the workplace.

Course in use of explosives

The course is theoretical and ends with a written exam. Participants also need to pass a practical exam.


The course is intended for drivers who transport dangerous cargo. It is both theoretical and practical and ends with a test. After taking a mandatory basic course, participants can choose between three continuating courses depending on which right/licence one intends to acquire.
